State Treasurer Judy Baar Topinka’s office to award special proclamations to the Punjabi Graduates

P.C.S. Fifth Annual Punjabi Youth Scholarship and Graduation Party, Awards Night on Sunday, June 12, 2005, 5:00 p.m. at Sher-A-Punjab Banquet Hall Devon Avenue Chicago

Chicago: Punjabi Cultural Society of Chicago is organizing it's fifth annual Punjabi youth graduation night on Sunday, June 12, 2005, starting at 5:00 p.m., at Sher-A-Punjab Banquet Hall, Devon Avenue, Chicago. The night is to honor the class of 2005, both high school and college. The celebration will include recognition awards, key note address, delicious food, DJ music, and networking.

PCS Scholarships of $1000 and $500 and the Graduation Night celebration is Sponsored by, MITS Inc., Dr. Surjit S. Patheja, Dr. Robert Singh, Dr. Gurbachan S. Kapoor, Harbans Singh Sangha and many other community supporters.

State of Illinois Treasurer Judy Baar Topinka’s office will provide special congratulatory proclamations to each graduate at this community event, where many mainstream guests have been invited to attend.

Keynote speaker: Jarnail Singh Lail, Vice President, Business Systems, Grainger Inc.,
Student speaker: Harpreet Kaur Khera, Assistant Attorney General of Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan and Law Graduate from University of Michigan at Ann Arbor MI.
Special Guest: Swaran Singh Boparai, IAS, Vice Chancellor, Punjabi University Patiala, Punjab, India will address the new graduates.

“The admission is complimentary to the Class of 2005 Graduates, and "Rangla Punjab 2005" participants, but $10 each for the family and friends of both the graduates & participants (a subsidized charge to cover dinner cost),” said Harbir Singh Virk, the P.C.S. youth coordinator.
